RESOLUTION NUMBER 10558 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONIGA AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
AGREEMENTS WITH THE STATE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION FOR
IMPLEMENTATION OF A LOCAL TRANSACTIONS AND USE TAX
WHEREAS, on November 2, 2010, the electorate of the City of Santa Monica
approved Ordinance No. 2316 {CCS) amending the City Municipal Code and providing
for a local transactions and use tax; and
WHEREAS, the State Board of Equalization {Board) administers and collects the
transactions and use taxes for ail applicable jurisdictions within the state; and
WHEREAS, the .Board will be responsible to administer and collect the
#ransactions and use tax for the City; and
WHEREAS, the Board requires that the City enter into a "Preparatory
Agreement" and an "Administration Agreement" prior to implementation of said taxes;
and
WHEREAS, the Board requires that the City Council authorize the agreements
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The "Preparatory Agreement" attached as Exhibit A and the
"Administrative Agreement" attached as Exhibit B are hereby approved and the Finance
Director is hereby authorized to execute each agreement.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
