WHEREAS; the City of Santa Monica is the end of the 2011 Los Angeles
"Stadium to the Sea" Marathon which annually hosts approximately 25,(100 runners,
their families and speotators; and
WHEREAS; the Marathon is a significant regional event that will promote Santa
Monioa on regional and national broadcast; and
WHEREAS, on February 9, 2{3143, the Ci#y Council. of the City of Santa Monica
{Council} adopted Ordinanoe Number 2305 {City Council Series} authorizing the
overnight parking of vehicles at the beach lots for regional events; and
WHEREAS, in order to properly manage the City`s parking resouroes on Sunday,
March 20, 2011, it is in the best interest of the Ci#y to provide pre-sold overnight parking
permits in south beach lots 4 and 5; and
WHEREAS, the L. A. Marathon is a regional event which benefits the City.

hlOVV; THEREFORE: THE CITY COi1NCiL OF THE CITY OF SARITA MOt\IICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTEOt~ 1. Overnight. parking is hereby authorized in South Beach Lots 4 and
5 on the night of March 19, 2011 for L. A. Marathon participants who pre-purohase
permits.
SECTIOhi 2. Overnight panting permits shall only be valid for vehicles entering
the south beach lots after 11:00 p.m., Saturday; March 19, 2011.
SECTIOf~ 3. Overnight parking permits for marathon participants shat( be sold at
a rate set by the City Manager pursuant to ResoEution 10517 {city Counoil Series)
governing parking rates.
SECTIORI 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and
thencefiorth and thereafter the same shall be in full foroe and efFeot.
