^lhe Library Board, at its meeting of May 16, 1968, recom-
mended to the City Council "that while streets adjacent to
the Ocean Park Branch Library are under repair, the lot at
the northwest corner of Second Street and Norman Place,
formerly occupied by the fire house, be cleared, paved,
and provided with two-hour metered parking space for patrons
and reserved space for staff",
Transmitted herewith is a sketch showing a proposed parking
planrfor the subject property. A total of eleven parking
spaces could be provided on the property. The estimated
cost of clearing, grading, paving, installing concrete
bumpers and parking meter posts, is X1,000.
As an alternate to the above, or as ar. addition thereto,
the sketch also shows a suggested remodeling of the on-street
parking on Norman Place to increase the parking capacity
from 14 cars to 19 cars. The estimated cost of this proposal,
which would involve making Norman Place One-'vJay, is X300
(curb construction and parking meter post installation).
