yours sincerely,
TO THE CITY COIINCIL, CITY OF SANTA mON2CA.
The Friends of Ocean Park is hereby rusting time
to speak on the problems faced atthe Ocean Park Library,
in view of the fact that. the room under the Liba~y
has been declared unusable by the Fire Department.
We have no quarrel with such a ruling, it is evident that
the room has only one entry, and in case of fire would
be hazardous, but we are concerned with the condition
the Library now find itself in.
The Friends has conducted one movie showing in the
Library Basement, with excellent results, about $5
people attended, and we are. sure that more would have
attended subsequent showings. Now, we have no place to
show pictures to neighborhood residents, who reason
of age or youth, cannot travel to the main L1 ary at
Santa Monica. Further, the childrenrs programs,
normally held in this room, have noplace to go.
It is requested that timebe allowed on the meeting
of Nay 9th, t~9 two representatives of the Friends of
Ocean Park, mr. Aalph Bruinsslot, and mr. John Pavlik,
both residents of the Ocean Park area. Thesemen will
present the poffiition of the Friends, and will request
that remedial measures be taken.
Th
Friends of Ocean Park.
