The murals in the OId Library, painted by Mr. S, MacDonald
Wright in 1935, were removed and stored fc;lowing the sale
of the Oid Library building. The City does not have an appro-
priate exhibit area for the 2000 square feet of murals which
were removed from the library. The Smithsonian Institute
would like to add these murals to their collection and has
offered to pay the packing and shipping charges, if the City
will give the murals to the Institute. Accordingly, it is
recommended that the City Council authorize the gift of the
murals to the Smithsonian Institute, subject to the Institution
paying the packing and shipping charges,
