;SUBJECT: Restroom at Stewart Street Playground
'°~,.,
Reference is made to your memo dated January 30, 1903 request-
- ing a written report regarding the status of the restroorn
budgeted for the improvement of the Stewart Street Playground
during 102-03. Following is the information requested:
A. Funds in the amount of X0,500 are included in the
1902-03 budget for the subject improvement.
B. Design on the subject project has not yet been
started. The Engineering Department has but one employee -
To'r;~ Donahue, Architectural Designer - experi.eneed in the design
of this type of project. Said employee presently is designing
and preparing plans for the construction of a new Restroom on
the North Beach and also a new Concession Stand for the South
Beach. Every effort is being made to complete the construction
of these projects by June 1, 1963. Said employee is also
assigned the task of preparing cost estimates for certain
Capital Imorovernents (of an architectural nature) requested by
the various Department Heads to be included in their 1903-64
budget requests.
C. Plans for the above-mentioned beach projects should
be completed about March 1, 1863. If we do not in the meantime
receive instructions for additional architectural design work
of a higher priority, design on the subject project should
commence on or about April 1, 1903 (allowing one. month for
1803-64 budget estimates) and the subject project should be
completed on or about August 1, 1903.
D. Attached is a list of projects presently under
design, or projects proposed but not yet under design. This
list is entitled "Engineering Department Project Priority List
and Backlog of ?4ork", dated January 29, 19'03. Of the 44
projects listed, the subject project is assigned priority 27;
hovrever, as noted above, it will be seen that it is the next
order of priority for Tom Donahue, our Architectural Designer.
