Joint Use Agreement - Unified School District
Introduction:
~. T! .
NOV 2 2 1977
This report concerns the renewal of the joint use agreement for
facilities for recreation purposes between the City of Santa Monica
and the Santa Monica Unified School District. It also is concerned
with the establishment of a joint use agreement between the City of
Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Community College District.
Background:
In 1949 the City of Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Unified School
District entered into a joint use agreement for school and college
facilities. Subsequent agreements have been entered into in 1951,
1955, and 1976. These agreements have established joint use by
either jurisdiction of the others facilities for recreation and
leisure purposes.
These agreements supersede all previous agreements and allow joint
use by the City of School and Community College facilities on a
second priority basis and of City facilities by the respective
district on a second priority basis. The agreement was drawn
through a joint committee of City and School personnel (Director of
Recreation and Parks, Recreation Superintendent, Business Manager
of the School District, Supervisor of Physical Education and Recrea-
tion for the School District, and the Vice President Student Personnel
Services of the College District)
