Mater Rates to be Set by Resolution

This report transmits for first reading a proposed ordinance
allowing Automatic r^ire Service water rates to be set by Resolution.
BACKGROUND
On November 25, 1980 Council agreed to increase the Interim
t~Tater Rates (Item 5-A) and did so by adopting a Resolution (No. 6139)
to that effect. However, only the Domestic Service water rates
could be directly changed by resolution as provided in Section 7200.
The Automatic Fire Service water rates are presently part of the
Code and must be changed b_y ordinance.
This proposed ordinance amends Section 7212 (b) to allow the
Automatic Fire Service rates to be set by resolution. A resolution
setting the neca rates is attached and should be adopted at the
second reading o£ this proposed ordinance.
RECOi`-Il`?ENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the proposed ordinance
be introduced allowing Automatic Fire Service water rates to be
set by resolution.
