The Master Plan, in order to remain efi'~.aiti~'v,~~'r°e
quires constant study and occasional revision. Accordingly,
this office prepared a complete revision of the plan insofar as
it concerns the area bounded by Pico Boulevard, Lincoln Boule-
yard, the Southeasterly City Limits and the Pacifie Ocean. This
revision was adopted by the City Planning Commission following
public hearing June 1,., 1962, and by the City Council, August 1¢,
1962.
This office has been accumulating data for five
years with a view to a revision this year of the balance of the
plan. This will cover items such as land use, freeway routing,
recreational and other public facilities, etc., but will follow
the general outline of the present plan just as was the case in
the matter of the Plan of Parks and Recreation which was adopt-
ed May 11, 1959, as a further spelling out of the plan.
It is impossible to establish a schedule of the
adoption of further revisions, and I can only say that these
will undoubtedly take months in preparation, study and hearing,
but.that a preliminary discussion will be held with the City
Planning Commission at its regular meeting May 6th in order to
explore the views of the commission and to present to the com-
mission some of the material which we have assembled.
To recapitulate, this office is most aware of the
fact that planning is dynamic and that the adoption of the
Paster Plan is a beginning rather than an ending. Therefore,
since the adoption of the Plaster Plan in 195, the following
amendments have been prepared and adopted9 with the exception
of the Airport Plan, all were prepared by this office:

This office is staffed to do the work of revision
and updating the existing plan an the retention of consultants
is not recommended.
