AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA ADDING SECTION 2.12.155 TO ADD A POSITION
OF COMMISSIONER EMERITUS ON THE RECREATION AND PARKS
COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Recreation and Parks Commission has recommended the
creation of the emeritus position for the commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered this recommendation and
has determined that creation of the emeritus position will assist the commission
in its service to the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 2.12.155 is hereby
added to the Santa Monica Municipal Code. to read as follows:
2.12.155 Commissioner(s) Emeritus.
The City Council may appoint up to
two Commissioners Emeritus who may serve on the
Commission for Recreation and Parks
("Commission"). The appointment

or phrase not declared invalid or unconstitutional without regard to whether any portion
of the ordinance would be subsequently declared invalid or unconstitutional
S~CTIU~! 4. The fvlayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall attest to the passage
of this t7rdlnance. The City Clerk shaBl cause the same to be published once in the
official newspaper within 15 days after its adoption. This t~rdinance shall become
effective 8fl days frorr~ its adoption.
