A RESOLUTION. OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SETTING THE
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MEDICAL INSURANCE COVERAGE WITH
MANAGEMENT TEAM ASSOCIATES, SUPERVISORY TEAM ASSOCIATES,
ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM ASSOCIATES, MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES
ASSOCIATION, PUBLIC ATTORNEYS' UNION., UNITED TRANSPORTATION
UNION (LOCAL 1785), PUBLIC ATTORNEYS' LEGAL SUPPORT STAFF
UNION, EXECUTIVE PAY PLAN PARTICIPANTS, AND SANTA MONICA
FIREFIGHTERS, LOCAL 1109 (IAFF)
WHEREAS, the City administration and representatives of the City's
miscellaneous employee bargaining units, the executive plan participants and the
Santa Monica Firefighters, Local 1109 (IAFF) have. met and conferred under the
terms of Ordinance No. 801 (CCS) and have reached agreement on the terms
and conditions of medical insurance coverage; and
WHEREAS, Section 2.06 of Ordinance No. 801 (CCS) of the City of Santa
Monica requires preparation of a written Memorandum of Understanding
between the administration and employees if an agreement can be reached; and
WNERI=AS, Section 2.06 of t}rdinance Igo. 801 {~~S} further provides that any
such Ntemorandum of understanding steal! not be binding unless and until presented to
the governing body far determination; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the (V3emorandum of understanding is to promote
and provide harmonious relations, cooperation, and understanding befinreen the City
and its miscellaneous employee bargaining units, the executive plan participants and
the Santa lvlonica Firefighters, Local 11139 {IAFF}.
NOW, THERI=FORE, THE CITY CC}U~3CIL OF T4~E CITY OF SAf~TA Mt~lU1CA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica does hereby approve

conditions of medical insurance coverage and includes the following changes:
employees will begin contributing a flat dollar amount towards the cost of their medical
insurance; City costs for medioai insurance for permanent part-time employees hired

comprehensive employee wellness plan will be implemented.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of Phis Resolution, and
