Subject: Amendment of Project Agreement for State Bond Act 1974 Funds
Introduction:
The report is a request for approval of a resolution agreeing to
the transfer of funds of State Park Bond funds.
Background:
The City Council had previously authorized expenditure of the
city's share of 1974 Park Bond funds to construct tennis courts
at Memorial Park and light two tennis courts at Los Amigos Park.
The lowest construction bid ($20,.000) for the lighting of the Los
Amigos courts was above the authorized project amount ($15,000).
Efforts to reduce the cost through redesign and further negotiations
with the low bidder were unable to bring the cost within the project
amount.
Staff has requested the State to transfer funds remaining in the
Memorial Park project to the Los Amigos Park project. .This request
has been approved by the State and must now be concurred in by the
City.
The Memorial Park project was originally funded in the amount of
$70,000. This will be reduced to $63,000. All the work intended
under the project has been completed. $7,000 of this money will be
transferred to the Los Amigos Project raising the amount from $15,000
to $23,000. The lowest bid was $20,000 in 1976. The $23,000 should
be adequate to cover new bids.

The City will not have to appropriate any money for the project.
Alternatives:
1. Approve the resolution concurring in the transfer of funds
by the State of California.
2. Do not authorize the resolution concurring in the transfer
of funds
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the resolution
concurring in the transfer of funds by the State of California to
enable the lighting of the two tennis courts at Los Amigos Park.
