Subject: Appropriation of Funds for Bike Lanes

Introduction
This report recommends that the City Council appropriate. .$37,000 for the
construction of bike lanes previously approved with the exception of San Vicente
Boulevard.
Background
At the October 14, 1980 City Council meeting the City Council passed a Resolution
directing that certain bike lanes be installed. The appropriation of funds which
have been received from SCAG in the amount of $37,000 was not approved. The Staff
gained the impression, the only objection to the .bike lane was the portion on San
Vicente Boulevard.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council appropriate the funds in the amount of
$37,000 for the bike lanes wiah the condition that the bike lanes on San Vicente
Boulevard not 6e constructed with. these funds.
