At a meeting of the City Planning
November 5, 1856, the commission, after considerable
explanation and discussion, approved the recommendation
of the City Manager and the Planning Director and
voted to recommend to your honorable body that applica-
tion be made for a Demonstration Protect Area under
the provisions of Section No. 314 of the Housing Act of
1954"covering the area described as both sides of
Third Street from Pico Boulevard to Strand Avenue,
both sides of Fourth Street from Pico Boulevard to
Strand Avenue and both sides, of Fifth Street from
Bay Street to Strand Avenue. The area described is
shown on the attached map.
The commission also voted to request of your honorable
body that the detailed application be submitted to
the Planning Commission for study and review prior
to acceptance by the council.
