Ib hack~c round Th© City Council on P;?ay 13, 1958 by F:esolution Noo 1947 approved the filing of an application to the IImII>Fa~R for Ocean Fark Projec'c P;o. I, requesting a planning advance of ~10(i,l5~ka arad a capital grant reservation of~i2,915,3000 ;~ubsequeritly, on September 19, 1958 tip ~ygency was advised ley the s'3oFT„Fell. that the City might initiate a recievelopnent project, but that .the carnal grant ceiling would be~i1,032,896, It was necessary for t?re I1>Y„r'a1i. to set ceilings on grant monies available to cor~ununities bemuse Congress did not appropriate money during 1958 fo-r housing programs A `1'he Cit}rCouncil, Flannirg ~;;'or:mission, Citizens" progress Corr~niittee and. -the lSgency concurred in dividing tT2e original Froject 110. I„ 13ut, a separate survey and planning application for Froject i~oA Ib r~aay be submitted now, and it would. gain a position in the "pipeline" of pending applications. It is probable that -the Congress will adopt a Housing appropriations bill during its current session, and funds should be available alter July. 1, 1959, It should be noted that if an appli- cation for Froject 1Qo. Ib were approved this slsraner, it might be possible then to expand Froject Pro, Ta to include Froject Moo Ib, k~ecause new l~aousirag legislation would prooably remove the c©iling on capital grant monies which is now in effect. 1~ decision on floe matter should be deferred until -that time, however, for a review must be made of-: la The status of planning for Froject Tdo, Ia 2, The effect of two separate projects on; (a) r.Che eligibility of the entire Froject l~`so, Ir. areaq (b) The total relocation work load, (c) The planning of the entire Froject i~~o, I. area, -1- F~Iemo to City Council &iesr~bers lipril 10, 1959 Rage r`2 (d) `fhe disposition of landp {e) 7'he development of site isnpxoveauents and facilities.
