A€ter considerable discussion, in which the commission concurred there was a shortage of park land in Santa Monica, the chairman moved: "that tine Recreation Commission does not recommend the use of iiotchkiss Park and two city owned lots adjoining Joslyn Park for the purpose of relocating '- the persons displaced by the process o€ Urban Redevelopment." The motion was seconded by PSrs. k:aschyand carried by the following vote. DaY?1 moved: "that the Recreation Commission recommend to the City Council that the area easterly of Joslyn Park not be ,'~..,._ considered €or relocation housing as the commission's future plan is to acquire this area for a play €ield and t'nat the two lots adjoining and westerly o€ Joslyn Par7c not be sold to acquire funds €or any purpose other than tine acquisition of other recreational land.
