A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ALLOWING OVERNIGHT PARKING ON
SEPTEMBER 25, 2010 IN ALL BEACH LOTS
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica is hosting the overnight cultural arts
festival, GLOW, on September 25, 2010; and
WHEREAS, GLOW is a significant regional event that will promote the
City's interests and draw visitors from the entire region who will stay in the City all
night; and
WHEREAS, on February 9, 2010, the City Council of the City of Santa
Monica (Council) adopted Ordinance Number 2305 (City Council Series)
authorizing the overnight parking of vehicles at the beach lots for regional
events.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. in order to properly manage the pity's parking resources on
Saturday, September 25, 2fl1fl, it is in the best interest of the City to provide overnight
parking in all beach lots. GLOW is a regional event which benefits the City.
SECT[ON 2. Overnight parking permits for GLOW participants shall be sold at a
rate set by Council resolution governing parking rates.
SECTION 3. Overnight parking permits for GLOW shall only be valid for vehicles
entering the beach lots after 2:flOp.m. in order to aglow for parking by other day beach
parking users.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thencefiorth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
