Santa hlonica, California, October 13, 1980 T0: Mayor and City Council FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Setting a Public Hearing for November 25, 1980 to Hear Protests Regarding the Street Lighting in the Area Bounded by Lincoln Blvd., City Limits, Highland Avenue and Marine Place North and to Confirm the Assessments Introducti The improvement Act of 1911 ,.speci€ically;Section 5362, provides that prior to confirmation of assessments all persons interested in the work or in the assessment will be heard by the City Council. Background On July 24, 1979, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 5396 (Item 6-B-10) which found the public convenience and necessity required construction of street lighting in the area bounded by Lincoln Boulevard, Southeasterly City Limits, Highland Avenue and Marine Place North, and Resolution No. 5354 (Item 6C), the Resolution of Intention. The street lighting work is now completed and the assessment has been filed with the City Clerk. It is necessary now to hold a public hearing to hear protests regarding the work and the correctness of the assessment. The assessment shall be provided to the City Council at the November 25, 1980 meeting. Recommendation It is recommended the City Council set a public hearing for November 25 , 1980.
