Webb, Auditorium Manager '~tE ~~~~~ ~ $y~3ry~y~'i~'1143::~ X33 `~'€D fi'a# SUBJECT: Advance Ticket Sales Charge Recommendation ~' With the furnishing of advance ticket sale facilities here at Civic Auditorium, an annual expense of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) has been incurred. This expense broken down amounts to Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000). additional utility charges and Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000) in payroll increase. To date this service has been furnished free of charge to the various permittees of the Auditorium. A survey of other Auditoriums has been conducted by the Auditorium management with the view in mind to find an equitable way of recovering some or all of this expense. After this survey was completed and the conclusion deduced, the various permittees of the Auditorium were contacted. The problem and the possible solution the Auditorium manage- ment had in mind was explained to them. All permittees agreed that a charge. was justified and that they paid a charge an other auditoriums for the same service. They likewise agreed that the charge as outlined seemed fair and were grilling to try it. The charges contemplated and recommended by the Auditorium management are as follows: Ten Cents (10¢) per ticket sold in any amount up to $2.90; Fifteen Cents (15¢} per ticket in any amount from $2.91 to $4.90; Twenty Cents (20¢) per ticket on all tickets in excess of $4.91 per ticket or Twenty Dollars ($20,00) per week that tickets are on sale, whichever is neater, This would be a guarantee of at least Twenty Dollars $20.00) per week and would influence the promoter to put his tickets on sale for a shorter period of time than most promo- ters are now doing. It is felt by the management that in view of the complete advance sale, mailings, and newspaper ads that are furnished free of charge to the permittee that the above charge is warranted as well as being fair and equitable. Favorable action on this matter is urgently hoped for. l• "ohn T. u+lebb, Auditorium Manager Santa Monica Civic Auditorium JTW:vp -, A ~! c.c. atch_
