Conversations vrith City Attorney P,obert Cockins have been
held relative to the entering into an agreement far wrestling
presentations here at Civic Auditorium. NTc. Coc'~ins is of the
opinion that while wrestling was not specifically mentioned,
the City Council, by their action of Dray 12, 1~5p, tvhere;n the
Civic Auditorium P'Ianager t~ras instructed to sign no fdr~;al con-
tract for boxing here at Civic Auditorium vrithout the approval
of the Council and the filing of a report arith the Auditorium
Advisory C'arnl~nittee, that their intent ryas to include t^rrestling,
'this office has an opportunity to enter into a contract with
one-Louie i'~Ii11er to present trestling here at Civic Auditorium
on any and all available Rronday nights, said promoter to pay
Four Hundred Dollars (~40G.00) bash rental and any labor charge
involved in the setting uo and demolition of risers necessary
for the attraction. i~Lr. Driller is vaell known to this office,
having been the umestling promoter at the Long Beach Auditorium
for a period. of five years and he is now ;oromoting c+rrestling in
the net+r Auditorium in Riehiitond, California as *r:ell as PlTodesto,
He has been found to be an excellent, aggressive promoter and
honorable in all dealings.
It is therefore respectfully requested that your honorable
office seek from the City Council, permission for this office
to enter into the above described contract.
