At their August 5, 2974 Councii ?neeting the City Council
authorized the architect to proceed tioith the development of
co~cegts for the Coircil to revue and approve prior to the
preparation of working dratiaings. The. architect developed four
~once~ts glans A, B, B-1, and C.
-These plans were presented to the public for t'reir -review
and comment at meetings held. at Memorial Park on September 4th,
i9~4, Marine Park on September 5, 1974 and at the regular monthly=
meeting of the Recreation and Parks Commission on September 19,

i7Q0 flyers were cir:ulated throughout the couanunity
announcing these public meetings. Public participation. was dis-
appointinj. Those that participated though did express favor for
Plan „Ai3
T'ne iargest participation. was at .the Recreation and Parks
Commission meeting. -After pu'oiic discussion .and review at this
meeting the Recreation and Parks Commission voted unanmiously for
Plan "A". .They also voted unanimously to recommend against
Plan nCn
Cost for the plans are as follows:
Plan A - 7930 square .feet @ $35.00 $278,000..
Plan B - 7b55 square feet @ $35.00 :$270,000,
-Plan B-1 - 7036 square feet @ $35.00 $267,000.
Plan G - 7803 square feet @ $35.00 = $273;000..
There is $325,.000 budgeted-for. this project. All four plans
are below the budgeted amount.-
Alternate Solutions
1. Endorse the public and Recreation ar_d Parks Commission
recommendations and authorize Plan "A''`.
2. ±he Coun_ciI may review the attached plans and select
any of them as the concept for development at yiernorial
.Park.
Recommendation
Authorize the concept of Plan "A" and instruct administration
to .authorize the preparation for working drawings and: specifications
by the architect based upon Plan "A".

At their regular meeting an Thursday, September 19, 1974, -
the Recreation and_.Parks Commission took the following
action with regard to Memorial Park building concepts.
`~Ir. Schwedes moved Plan A be recommended to the City Council.
2~s. Cheney sew nded the motion and it passed unanimously,
Mr, Scbaaedes moved to delete Plan C. Mr. de 1a Puente
seconded the motion and it passed unanimously."
