A RESOLUTION OF THE. CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA SETTING VARIOUS PARKING RATES
WHEREAS, the Santa Monica Pier is host to the Annual Twilight Dance
Series; and
WHEREAS, thousands of individuals and families attend each series
concert; and
WHEREAS, on February 9, 201Q the City Council of the City of Santa
Monica (Council) adopted Ordinance Number 2305(City Council Series)
authorizing the overnight parking of vehicles at the beach lots for regional events;
and
WHEREAS, on March 9, 2010, the City Council- of the City of Santa
Monica directed staff to develop recommendations and actions necessary to
facilitate the production of a minimum of 7 (seven) Twilight Dance Series
concerts in 2010.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Parking rates for the Central Beach Zone shall be $10 (ten) flat rate
beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday nights July 8, 2010 to September 2, 2010.
SECTION 2. No entry shall be allowed after sunset.
SECTION 3. Vehicles already in any beach lot before sunset shall be allowed to
remain until one hour after the conclusion of the Twilight Dance Series concern.
SECTION 4. If there are any conflicts between the rates adopted in this
resolution and any adopted by prior resolution, the rates adopted through this resolution
shall take precedence between 5:00 p.m. and midnight on Thursdays from July 8, 2010
to September 2, 2010.
SECTION 5. The Gity Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
