sr-051380-6j(: (//^/ V MAY 1 3 390 Santa Monica, California, April 22, 1980 To: Mayor and City Council From: City Staff Subject: TRANSFER OF FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTING OF MODIFICATIONS TO THE MOSS AVENUE SEWAGE PUMPING PLANT Introduction This report recommends the transfer of funds for the subject construction which was awarded by Contract No. 3447 authorized by Council January 30, 1980. Background Under the existing Joint-Powers agreement between the City of Los Angeles and the City of Santa Monica, Santa Monica is accountable for 16.78% of the total cost of capital improvements for the P+loss Avenue Sewage Pumping Plant. Improvements needed are estimated at $500,000. The City of Los Angeles has contributed $65,713.56 to date and has been invoiced for their remaining share, $350,386.44. Reimbursement of this amount was confirmed by their City Council Committee. Funding for Santa Monica's share of the cost of the project is $83,900, and this amount was included in the current budget with Contractual Services (Ref: page 248, line 17). For accountability, this funding should now be transferred to Capital Outlay. Recommendation It is recommended that the City Council authorize the transfer of $83,900 from Contractual Services to Capital Outlay within the Sewer Reserves Fund.
