Subject: TRANSFER OF FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTING OF MODIFICATIONS
TO THE MOSS AVENUE SEWAGE PUMPING PLANT
Introduction
This report recommends the transfer of funds for the subject construction
which was awarded by Contract No. 3447 authorized by Council January 30, 1980.
Background
Under the existing Joint-Powers agreement between the City of Los Angeles and the
City of Santa Monica, Santa Monica is accountable for 16.78% of the total cost
of capital improvements for the P+loss Avenue Sewage Pumping Plant. Improvements
needed are estimated at $500,000. The City of Los Angeles has contributed
$65,713.56 to date and has been invoiced for their remaining share, $350,386.44.
Reimbursement of this amount was confirmed by their City Council Committee.
Funding for Santa Monica's share of the cost of the project is $83,900, and this
amount was included in the current budget with Contractual Services (Ref: page 248,
line 17). For accountability, this funding should now be transferred to Capital
Outlay.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the transfer of $83,900 from
Contractual Services to Capital Outlay within the Sewer Reserves Fund.
