SUBJECT: Appropriation of Funds to the Sewers/Storm
Drain Budget
Introduction
This report requests City Council appropriate funds in the
amount of $150,946 from unappropriated Sewer Revenue Funds to
the Sewers/Storm Drains Account Number 31-500-661-000-512.
Background
During the 19.81-82 budget sessions, Council appropriated funds
in the amount of $594,200 to fund Account 512-LA Sewage Disposal
in the Sewers/Storm Drain budget. As of December 31, 1981,
funds in Account No. 31-500-661-000-512 have been expended in
the amount of $366,0.73, leaving a balance of $228,127. This
account is the. contractual payment to the City of Los Angeles
for treatment o£ the. sewage and capital improvements at the
Hyperion Plant.
The estimates prepared by the City of Los Angeles were sub -
stantially less than the bills which. have. been received. An
appropriation of $150.,946 will allow the. City to pay the. 1981/82
deposit request to the City of Los Angeles and payment of the
balance for the fiscal year 19.79.-80, when received,
Recommendation
It is recommended City Council appropriate $150,946 from the
unappropriated Sanitary Sewer Fund to fund the Account
31-50.0-861--000-512 of the. Sewers:/Storm Drains budget for the.
remainder of fiscal year 1981182,
