(excluding 71th Street) and to confirm the Assessments Introduction The provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911, specifically Section 5362, provides that prior to confirmation of assess- ments all persons interested in the work or in the assessment will be heard by the City Council. Background On July 20, 1980, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 6054 (Item 7A) which found the public convenience and necessity required construction of street lighting in the area bounded by Lincoln Boulevard, Santa Monica Freeway, 14th Street and Pico Boulevard, and Resolution No. 6055 (Item 7B), the Resolution of Intention. The street lighting work is now completed and the assessment has been filed with the City Clerk. It is necessary now to hold a public hearing to hear protests regarding the work and the correctness of the assessment. The assessment shall be provided to the City Council at the November 24, 1981 meeting. Recommendation It is recommended the City Council set a public hearing for November 24, 1981.
