Subject: Setting a Public Hearing for November 24, 1981
to hear Protests regarding the Street Lighting
in the area bounded by Lincoln Boulevard, Santa
Monica Freeway, 14th Street, and Pico Boulevard.
(excluding 71th Street) and to confirm the Assessments
Introduction
The provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911, specifically
Section 5362, provides that prior to confirmation of assess-
ments all persons interested in the work or in the assessment
will be heard by the City Council.
Background
On July 20, 1980, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 6054
(Item 7A) which found the public convenience and necessity
required construction of street lighting in the area bounded by
Lincoln Boulevard, Santa Monica Freeway, 14th Street and Pico
Boulevard, and Resolution No. 6055 (Item 7B), the Resolution of
Intention. The street lighting work is now completed and the
assessment has been filed with the City Clerk. It is necessary
now to hold a public hearing to hear protests regarding the work
and the correctness of the assessment. The assessment shall be
provided to the City Council at the November 24, 1981 meeting.
Recommendation
It is recommended the City Council set a public hearing for
November 24, 1981.
