SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid for Inspection & Repair of
Water Well Pumping Equipment. Bid No. 1717.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for inspection and repair services
for water well pumping equipment at the unit costs bid for the
period May 1, 1982 through April 30, 1983. Funds for this
purchase are available in the Water Dvision_&udget_,~
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to pull, inspect
and repair and reset water well equipment in accordance with
City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and
read March 11, 1982. Proposal forms were mailed to eighteen
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter
and Municipal Code provisions. Three proposal were received
as noted on recap sheet. The bid anticipated award to two vendors
in order to cover an emergency situation wherein one vendor
might not be available when needed.
Recommendation
It is recommended that awards be made to both General Pump Service,
Los Angeles, California and McCa11a Brothers, Santa Ana, California
in the unit amounts bid for the period May 1, 1982 through
April 30, 1983 as the lowest and best bidders.
