SUBJECT: Recommendation To Award Bid For A Compaction/Demolition
Hammer. Bid No. 1763
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for a compaction/demolition hammer
in the total amount of $51,080.88 including applicable sales tax.
Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in account number
25-500-671-000-813. (Water Department)
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids (published 6-1-82)
to furnish and deliver a compactionLdemolition hammer in accordance
with City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and
read June 15, 1982. Proposal forms were mailed. to eleven vendors
and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Gode provisions. One proposal was received. It is the
opionon of staff that because of the highly specialized nature of
of this type of equipment there are only two or three known brands.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Nixon-Egli Equipment Co.,
in the total amount of $51,080.88, including tax, as the lowest
and best bidder.
