Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for Liquid Chlorine at the unit
prices quoted. runds for this purchase have been budgeted in
account number 25-500-671-000-401 ;'(Water De~artment,)f
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids (published 4-27-82)
to furnish and deliver liquid chlorine in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
June 1, 1982. Proposal forms were mailed to nine vendors and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal
Code provisions. Two proposals were received as follows:
JONES CHEMICALS, INC. MCKESSON CHEMICAL COMPANY
Item 1 $235.00 Deposit $75.00 Item 1 $235.00 Deposit $1000.00
Item 2 $35.75 Deposit $100.00 Item 2 $36.00 Deposit $150.00
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Jones Chemicals, Inc.
at the unit prices quoted as the lowest and best bidder.
