Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for various pneumatic tools in
the total amount of $7,434.77 including applicable sales tax. Funds
for this purchase have been budgeted in account number 25-500-671-
000-802 (Water 1
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids (published 9-1-82)
to furnish and deliver various pneumatic tools in accordance
with City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened
and read on September 16, 1982. Proposal forms were mailed to
twenty vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with
City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals
were received as follows:

Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Ingersoll Rand Equipment
Sales, Pico Rivera, California the items number 1,2,3,4,6 in the
total amount of $4,952.25 including tax, and to Engine & Equipment
Co., South Gate, California item number 5 in the amount of $2,482.52
including tax, as the lowest and best bidders.
