SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Ductile Iron Pipe
for the Water Division. Bid No. 1615
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for Ductile Iron Pipe
in the total amount of $7,511,79 including applicable sales
tax. Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in account
number 38-955-200-000-000.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver Ductile Iron Pipe in accordance with City specifications,
bids were received and publicly opened and read P-1ay 26, 1981.
Proposal forms were mailed to eleven vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. Two proposals were received.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Pacific States
Cast Iron Pipe Co. in the total. amount of $7,511.79, including
tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
