SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Service Fittings for
the City Water Department. Bid Ydo. 1604.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for Service Fittings (fitting uses'
in a water transmission line;) in the total amount of $F7,509.75 ;,n-:
eluding applicable sales tax. Funds for th_s purchase have been bud-
geted in account number 38-955-200-000-000.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver
Service Fittings in accordance with City specifications, bids were
received and publicly opened and read April 2, 1981. Proposal forms
were mailed to twelve vendors and notices were advertised in ac-
cordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. As five
vendors submitted bids on 57 items, a recap sheet would be too cum-
tersome to accompany this report, but one is available in the
Purchasing Department. The following bidders submitted low bids as
itemized below:
