SUBJECT: Recommendation to waive Formal Bid Procedures for
Water Distribution Supplies.
Introduction:
This report concerns Sole Source .Procurement for Emergency
Water Distribution Parts and Supplies. This is to be effective
February 1, 1981 through February 28; 1982. The estimated
amount is $15,.000 including applicable sales tax, Funds for this
purchase have been budgeted in various accounts.
Background:
The Production and Distribution sections of the Water Division
receive frequent requests to perform emergency repairs in order
to maintain the necessary water pressure. The immediate Pro-
curement of parts and supplies for the large valves used in the
necessary shut-down and by-pass procedures is essential. Research
by Staff has determined Western Water Works to be the only
local distributor for parts and supplies for the large CLA-Valve
and Wach Hydraulic Valve Equipment.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt a resolution
Waiving Formal Bid Procedures and he City Manager be authorized
to execute a purchase agreement with Western Water Works in the
estimated amaunt of $15,060,00
