v 'SUBJECT : Fare Increase`
In our 1955-56 budget there was a considerable drop in
operating expenses, but due to increases 3n our depreciation sehedulea
employee welfare costs' periodic wage increases and a predicated drop
in revenue, we estimated a net profit of 2$,OOf?o00 for the year,
After the budget was filed, tires went up about ten per-
cent, bnsea are going up from two to five percent and employees wages
wer® increased approximately ~ y.0,Od0.Q0 arsnually.
By exploring a11. avenues of economy in the Transportation
Department, we have base able to hold the line on the price of bus fares
£or a long period of time, even though other ~mpanies in the area have
raised fares consistentlyo
I will appreciate your hind consideratian an this problem
