The residents of the Westorsst area have beEn requesting
bus service for a long period of time, and about thras months ago a sur®
vsy was made by this office with tiz2 assistance of the Westorsst Comm~~ity
Associations This survey shows that some sort of bus service is raeesssary
to the community and that a oonsid2rabls number of people wotxid ride the
bus2sm
I would like to recommend that bus s2rvlce b2 ir_sta?_lsd by
the Santa Monica Municipal Bus Lines for a tria3 period beginning with the
opening of sohool in S2pt2a*..ber and extending until the 2nd of the oalendar
years If the bus service is not operated on at least a break®sv2n basis
by January lp 155, it should bs discontinued,
I would like to rsooend that this service during suoh
trial period to oparats as follows®
Beginning with the int2rssotion of Flkgrovs Avenue and Linooln
Boulevard;
Thsnos~ northerly along Lincoln Boulevard to Lake Street;
Thence, sastsri~° along Laks Street to 4lalgrove Avenue;
Thenos, southerly along Walgrov2 Avenue to Ocean Park Avsnus;
Thanes, easterly along Oosan Fark Avenue to the intsrssotion
of Ocean Park Avenue and Beethoven Street, where
=a3oadgrs2n Strsst begins;
Thsno2y easterly along k`aodgrsen Str=et to a point abo9at
Stewart Stresta
The route will t?x2n cross over in a northerly dirsotion to
Ocean Park Avsnus, whioh lass parallel to ?•7oodgresn Street'
and the return trip w~.ll bs;
Westerly along Oosan Park Avsnus to 4lalgrove Avenue;
Thence' northerly along Walgrove Avenue to Laks Street;
Thsnos9 westerly along Lake Street to Frederick Stresta
T'nsncs, southerly along Frederick Strsst to ~.kgrovs Avsnus;

I feel that if this new bus service is operated approximately
22 hours per day9 5 days per week' it will give us a very good idea on what
