Dorin Background After public hearing and careful review of the record and staff recommendations, the City Planning Commission approved the Tentative Map. for the above project. .The action of .the .Planning Cornmission was based on their finding that the pro- posed subdiaision should cause no substantial environmental damage and is in conformance .with all state and local laws and regulations and applicable General Plan Elements. The Final Map conforms to the Tentative Map.. The License Division reports that the developer has either paid or agreed to pay the condominium tax. The Building and Safety and Fire Departments indicate that the project meets present fire safety requirements. Approval by the County Engineer's office has been received for the project. The property had been a parking lot--vacant land for 30+ years. Construction began in March 1979 and is 80% completed. Alternatives. State and City ordinances require approval of final subdivision maps which comply with approved Tentative Maps. Approval bf the Final Subdivision Map does not ~~~ a 2 19s~ a .. ', i Mayor and City Council Page 2 ', release the subdivider from compliance with any applicable requirements of the. Rent Control Ordinance. Recommendation .Inasmuch as the Final Map conforms to the approved Tentative Map, the buildings meet required safety standards and the tax has been paid or an agreement to pay .executed, it is respectfully recommended .that the City Council. affirm the find- ings of the Planning Commission and approve said Map with the advisement that approval of the Final Subdivision Map does not release the subdivider from compliance with the Rent Control Ordinance requirement for an exemption or remova l permit.
