sr-040880-6oi~ ~P E i~<~ Santa Monica, California, March 27, 1980 T0: Mayor and City Council FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Final'Map.Approval Introduction This report transmits a Final Map for City Council apprdval of the following condominium project which received Tentative Approval May 21,-1979i' TRACT ADDRESS DEVELOPER UNITS 37229 .1123 Eleventh Street Jaroslav and Jirina Marik 6 (new} Background After public hearing and careful review of the record and staff recommendations,- the City Planning Corrunission approved the Tentative Map for the above project. The action of the Planning Commission was based on their finding that the pro- posed subdivision should cause no substantial environmental damage and is in conformance with all state and local laws and regulations and applicable General Plan. Elements. The final ~4ap conforms to the Tentative Map. The License Division reports that-the-developer has either paid or agreed to pay the condominium tax. The Building and Safety and Fire Departments indicate that the project meets present fire safety requirements. Approval by the Coun"ty Engineer's office has been received for the project. Demolition of one building and moving of another were completed in December 1978. A-total of five units were removed. Construction began October 17,1979 and con- times. Alternati ves State and City ordinances require approval of final subdivision maps which comply with approved Tentative Maps. Approval of the final Subdivision-Map dbes not (O ASR 8 ?g80 Mayor and City Council Page 2 release the subdivider from compliance with any applicable requirements of the Rent Control Ordinance. Recommendation Inasmuch as the Final Map conforms to the approved Tentative Map, the buildings meet required safety standards and the tax has been paid or an agreement to pay executed, it is respectfully recommended that the City Council affirm the fihd- ings of the Planning Commission and approve said Map with the advisement that approval of the Final Subdivision Map does not release the subdivider from compliance with the Rent Control Ordinance requirement for an exemption or removal permit.
