sr-041180Santa Monica, California, April 11, 1980 TO: The Mayor and City Council FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Request for Final Tract Map, Tentative Tract Map No. 36254, 21 Unit Condominium Conversion, 832 Euclid St., 832 Euclid Street Ltd. Introduction This is a request by Attorney William A. Ross for a Final Tract Map for a 21 unit condominium conversion. The matter was tabled on March 11, 1980 for determination as to whether all conditions of the Tentative Tract Map had been met. Background On March 5, 1979 the Tentative Tract Map was approved on condition that automatic security gates by installed. On July 9, 1979 the Final Tract Map was filed with the City by the County Engineer Department. On August 31, 1979 inspection indicating that the security gates had not been installed and on November 1, 1979 the gates were found to be installed but not functioning because electrical work had not been completed. On January 28, 1980 Attorney William A. Ross requested approval of the Final Tract Map on the basis that all work had been completed and on March 11, 1980 the request was tabled to determine whether the security gates had been installed in accordance with a valid building permit. On March 12, 1980 an after the fact electrical permit was obtained and a penalty fee paid. Failure to obtain the permit originally Mayor and City Council - 2 - April 11, 1980 was alleged to be due to confusion between the electrician and the gate installer, each of whom thought he other had obtained the necessary permit. In the interim the Court has indicated that the City Council should consider the Final Tract Map. Recommendation Inasmuch as the conditions of the Tentative Tract Map have been fulfilled and all necessary permits obtained, it is respectfully recommended that the Final Tract ERap be approved.
