SUBJECT: Request for Final Tract PQap, Tentative Tract Map No.
36641, 7 Unit Condominium Conversion, 947 - 18th Street,

Introduction
This is a request for approval of a Final ^Tract Map for a 7 unit
condominium conversion. The Tentative Tract Map was approved
March 5, 1979 and a 180 day extension was granted February 25,
1980 on condition that a vested right, removal permit or exemption
from the Rent Control Board be obtained prior to Final Slap approval.
Background
The Tentative Tract Map was approved on March 5, 1979 and the Final
Map was filed by the County Engineer on rr^ebruary 4, 1930 and ap-
proved by the City Engineer on February 19, 1980. The applicant
indicates a total of $18,816 has been spent and all requirements
with the exception of the smoke detectors have been completed.
On February 25th the Planning Commission granted an extension to
September 5, 1980 on condition that Rent Control Board approval
be obtained prior to Final Map approval.
Recommendation
Inasmuch as the record indicates all conditions of the Tentative
Tract Map would not have been completed by March 1, 1980 (the
installation of smoke detectors), it is respectfully recommended

Introduction
This report transmits. verification that smoke detectors were
installed prior to the expiration of the Tentative Tract Map
on May 4, 1980.
Background
On April 29, 1980 this matter was carried .over to obtain verifi-
cation that smoke detectors, a tentative map condition, had been
installed prior to the map's expiration on May 4, 1980.
The owner has submitted a signed statement that the detectors
were installed by February 28, 1980 together with a February 28,
1980 Handyman's bill for $98.58 for installation of 6 smoke de-
tectors marked paid on March 3, 1980. Installation of the de-
tectors by March 1, 1980 has been independently verified by at
least one tenant and inspection of the premises substantiate they
are still installed.
Recommendation
Inasmuch as all the conditions of the Tentative Map, including
the installation of smoke detectors were completed prior to the
