Recommended Action
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance.
Executive Summary
At its meeting on October 27, 2009, the City Council introduced for first reading an
ordinance which would ban onychectomy and flexor tendonectomy procedures, which
are declawing procedures on cats, in Santa Monica. The ordinance is now presented to
the City Council for adoption.
