Bundore, Finance IIirector-City Controller CITY OF SANTA MONICA DATE: May 29, 1963 T0: E. N. Mobley, City Manager FROM: W. W. Dundore, Director of Finance-City Controller SUBJECT: Appropriation Transfers A review of the 1962-63 budgetary accounts has disclosed that Council approval should be obtained for the following appro- .. priation adjustments; Supplemental Appro riation: City Clerk - Elections Acct. 202-1) Appropriate 1,055 from the General Fund Unappropriated Surplus to cover the increased election cost resulting from five Council seat vacancies instead of three. Transfer ,000 from Miscellaneous-Bond Issue Expense {Acct. 213) to cover the cost of the Library Bond Election. (2) Public Works - Refuse Collection (Acct. 225-1) Transfer 1 ,000 from Salaries Acct. 03 to Auto Operating Expense (Acct. 20). The over-all operation of this activity is well within the total appropriation. Rowever, expenses for repairs to hydraulic and packing mechanism equipment on the transportation trucks have been greater than anticipated and it is necessary to request the above transfer from an excess appropriation in the Salaries Account. (3) Recreation - Rifle Range (Acct. 403-A) Transfer 1,000 from Northside Swimming Pool (Acct. 405-B). Additional funds are necessary to keep the Rifle Range open, and such funds are available from a savings in the operating costs of the Northside Pool. (4) Recreation - Transfer x`6,000 from Northside Swimming Pool(Acct.405-B). General repairs and maintenance of the Upland facilities have exceeded budget estimates but the swimming pool surplus bal- ance is avail_ab_le to take care of both the Rifle Range and this transfer.
