Numerous complaints have been received from residents concerning
large mobile homes parked in driveways between the curb line and
the sidewalk. Council action which prohibits the parking of large
mobile homes on the street has resulted in some areas in the mobile
home being moved just behind the curb line between the curb line and
the sidewalk in what is normally described as the driveway apron
which is within the street right-of-way.
The appearance and sight impediment created by parking mobile homes
in this fashion is even more objectionable than parking the same vehicle
in the street. Accordingly, it is recommended that the City Council
instruct the City Attorney to modify Section 3337 of the Municipal Code
to prohibit this practice.
