to Northeasterly City Limits

Design studies for storm drains included in the Los Angeles County Flood Control
District 1964 bond issue program indicate that the most practical location for one
of these storm drains is in the Olympic Boulevard planting strip from Cloverfield
Boulevard to Nebraska Avenue. Accordingly, it seems most appropriate to defer
the landscaping budget for this fiscal year between 26th Street and the north-
easterly city limits until after the construction of the required storm drain. The
Director of Public Works advises that the storm drain construction will not occur
until 196& or later and that the landscaping will be programmed to coincide with
this utility construction.
Therefore, unless the Council directs otherwise, the beautification project will
be taken off the priority list for the time being.
