SUBJECT: Recommendation for Encroachment Permit -
"Wilshire West" at Wilshire Boulevard and Ocean Avenue.
Transmitted herewith is the "Field Report and
Recommendation for Proposed Building Encroachment" for
the Wilshire West project at Wilshire Boulevard and
Ocean Avenue.
This permit provides for the building founda-
tions to encroach 7.25 feet into Wilshire Boulevard and
0.25 feet into First Court. The encroachment is for the
footings only and will be a depth of 35 to 42 feet below
street grade. The public use of the city property is
not adversely affected in any way by this encroachment,
It is recommended that the City Council be
requested to approve this encroachment.

The project would be located on Lots "Q", "R", S, T, U, V, W, X, and
"Z" in Block 123 in the City of Santa Monica, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, as per map recorded in Book 39, Page 45, of
"Miscellaneous Records" of said County,
Nature of proposed encroachment.
As shown on Exhibit "A" attached, and described below:
A. Encroachment of building foundation into Wilshire Boulevard.
B, Encroachment of building foundation into first alley east of
Ocean Avenue and parallel to it.
Amount or extent of proposed encroachment.
A. -7.25' into Wilshire Boulevard on the south side.
B. 0.25' into the west side of the first alley east of Ocean
Avenue.
Height of proposed encroachment above sidewalk grade and/or distance below
grade of sidewalk, street, or alley.
Approximately 42' below street level to bottom of encroaching foundation.
