SUBJECT: Recommendation re Request for Encroachment at 601 Marine Street.
Transmitted herewith is the "Field Report and
Recommendation for Proposed Building Encroachment" for a
proposed 3-foot high wall to encroach approximately 2 feet
into City property at 601 Marine Street along the entire
lot frontage.
The back of sidewalk at this location is 2 feet
from the property line. Numerous properties on both sides
of the street have fences and other encroachments extending
to the back of sidewalk.
At 601 Marine Street there is at present a picket
fence which the property owner proposes to replace with
the proposed wall.
Since the wall will not interfere with the public
use of the sidewalk, and since the permit, if issued, would
be revokable in the event the City needed to use the property,
it is recommended that the City Council be requested to
approve this encroachment.

Brick or cinder block wall, 3' high, to be placed at
rear edge of sidewalk, an encroachment of 2 ft, and
running for the entire frontage of the lot.
RECCyA4ENDATION
Adjacent properties have wails or fences extending
to back of sidewalk.. This property presently. has
a somewhat rickety fence at this location which
the owner proposes to replace with the above wall.
It is recommended that. this request for Encroach-
ment be granted.
