SUBJECT: Industrial Corridor Parking and Traffic Circulation
The Industrial Advisory Committee has reviewed industrial corridor traffic
circulation abutting Olympic Boulevard between 26th Street and Centinela Avenue,
as well as the proposed revision in industrial development parking standards.
Accordingly, your committee recommends as follows:
Industrial Corridor Traffic Circulation
The committee unanimously recommends that the Gity Council make every
effort to expedite the improvement of the general traffic circulation facilities in
the area of Olympic Boulevard between 2bth Street and Centinela. The
committee appreciates that Olympic Boulevard has as yet to be relinquished to
the City by the State of California, but wishes to advise the City Council at this
time of the committee's concern with the need for such traffic improvements at
the earliest practicable date.
Proposed Revision of Industrial Development Parking Requirements
The committee has reviewed the proposed increase in such parking require-
ments from 1 parking space for each 500 square feet of floor space to 1 space
for each 350 square feet of gross floor area. It is the opinion of the- majority
of the committee that such a revision would place an additional impediment in
the way of industrial development, and the committee is therefore opposed to
the revision.
