This report concerns item 4-C of the,Counci~ b;eeting of
August 6, 1574.
BACKGRCL?vII:
Several assessments for the repair;of broken sidewalk were
presented to the City Council for confirmation at ~h~ir meeting of
August 6, 1974. Two of the assessments were protested oy the owner,
~.r. Henry Yarmark, who owns the properties located at 1719 & 1723
Wilshire Boulevard: The City Council withheld the 'confirmation of
rIr. YarmaricTs assessments and referred them :c the ~dministration £or
investigation and report. On :•iednesday, August 7, 1}74, Tor. Yarmark,
tor. McAteer and I met to discuss P4r. Yarmark's protesi, tdr. Yarmark's
protest was that we had only notified hi^: regarding one property, but
not the other. After showing i4r. Yarmark documentation of having been
notified regarding the two properties, he agreed that he had indeed
been notified. On Thursday, August 5, 1974, Mr. Yarmark called me and
requested that I mail him both bills and he would mail a check. I am
withholding the bills until such time as the City Council confirms the
assessments. .
