You will recall that the City Council, in con~iecVion'i~i~~
its Niarch l2, 1968 discussion of the proposed off-street
parking ordinance (Item, 6-C ), made an informal request for
a report on the feasibility and cost of expanding our
present program of street svieeping woarl~ing restrictions
into a city-:vide progrart.
A detailed. brea'~down of the results of the survey is on
file in my offices the maps involved are on file in the
Street Superintendent's office, The survey and maps,
vahich cover only those streets without restriction. signs
v,~hich are s?ae_pt during daylight, li st the follow?ing
info-rnation :
1, The side and street tc be posted.
2. The proposed day and hours,
3. The number of signs required. for each street.
The entire program ?aould_ require the installation of
approximately 7120 signs and posts. At an estimated. cost
of ,10.00 per sign; yclus inciden'cal costs, the entire
program vaould cost about X75,000.
If such a program ;s contemplated, T viould recommend that
it be accomplished over a four year period, as follovass
Phase I - urea bounded by Colcrado on the north,
20th. and 18th Streets on the east, De?~~ey
