CITY OF SANTA MONICA '"=. "' b5-C-61 i''(' ! ,INFORMATION DATE: December 10, 1465 '~' ~ ` TO: The Honorable City Council ~ ' ''"' ^-~ FROM: Perry Scott, City Manager SUBJECT: Requests for Information Pursuant to the request of Mayor Minter, the following information is submitted for your files: Broken Glass Panels on Auditorium Marquee Vandals break an average of two or three panels per month, which are usually replaced immediately. In some cases, however, the damage includes breakage of special fluorescent tubes which require two to three weeks for replacement. In the current instance, the large panel is a special order item. However, it is being replaced temporarily with composite sections, which should improve the appearance but does not represent a permanent repair. Improving Parking Area South of County Building Sometime ago, contract No. 1567(CCS) was executed between the City and the County, which provided for a cost sharing of two-thirds for the County and one-third for the City with respect to parking improvements in the courthouse area. The total estimated cost of parking lot improvements was $75, 876, of which approximately $46,000 has been expended to date. The remaining $31,000 repre- sents the cost of improvements to the area south of the County building for which funds have not been budgeted by either the County or the City, It was and is our intention to propose in the 196b-67 budget the completion of .the se improvements, subject to the required appropria- tion by the County. l~ .,~ ..
