Dear Mr. Scott:
The Federal Communications Commissicn Regulations on Cable
Television require that cable system operators prcvide certain
Access Channels on all systems placed in operation after March 31,
1972. .Systems which were in operation prior to that date have
until March 31, 1977 to come into compliance.
Theta Cable plans to start service on the Public Access Channel for
its Santa Monica Cable Television System on June 14, 1973, in order
to be in compliance with both the letter and the spirit of the FCC
-regulation well in advance-of the deadline date.
I believe it would be appropriate for me to make a brief presentation
to the City Council and to answer questions by -the Council on Public
Access service.
