SiJBJECT: Review the increase for parking meter-violations.

As you recall, the fine for parking meter violations was increased from $2
to $5 recently. At the Council meeting held September 11 a companion
ordinance was adopted increasing other parking or walking violations. During
the discussion some objections from the audience were raised regarding the
increase for parking meter violations at which time Councilman Judson
requested that the increase in fines for parking meter violations be included
on the September 25 agenda,
In reference to a request by Councilman van den Steenhoven, a check of the
surrounding cities reveals the following fines are in effect and that none of
the cities indicated an increase in the near future,
Beverly Hills
Culver City
Inglewood
